Homme Program Intern

Homme Youth and Family Programs is a program of Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan, Inc.
(LSS).
It is a treatment program for males and females, ages 10-21.
Treatment goals are tailored to each youth with an emphasis on trauma-sensitive care.
Youth are served with 24-hour sight and sound supervision.
We are seeking candidates for our Homme Intern Program.
Parameters of the internship include:
o Looking for students available for two semesters or 1 semester and summer o Must be available for 1st/ 2 nd /3 rd shifts and weekends.
We can be flexible with school schedules o Paid internship - starting pay $9-$10/hour; no other benefits associate with the internship o No promise of work after internship, but if successful in internship, upon completion, there may be opportunity to move into a regular Youth Counselor type role o Intern agreement/learning plan will be followed o Intern must successfully complete all necessary checks and screens in the offer to hire process and complete necessary program training.

Requirements Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required.
Active enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor's Degree program in Human Services.
, which includes Social Work, Psychology or Sociology, Law Enforcement or a closely related field is required.
A written internship agreement between the educational institution and LSS is required.
Ability to complete and display competency in all required trainings Working knowledge and understanding of child development Possess emotional integrity to work with challenging at-risk youth and families Ability to recognize and maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries Ability to establish and maintain effective team, public and working relationships Ability to accept and embrace the diversity of others Ability to build rapport with clients and to develop advanced communication and processing skills Ability to take a proactive approach to correct an unsafe situation Ability to consistently recognize, promote and model strength-based, trauma sensitive care Have the ability to use patience, self-control and flexibility when required; have the ability to accept and follow through with direction; and possess the ability to recognize boundaries.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
The incumbent of this position must have a valid Driver's License and car - Motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
